The Hidden Lives of Monkeys Macaques are Old World monkeys found in Africa and Asia. The most distinguishing feature between Old World monkeys and New World monkeys (those found in the Americas) is that only New World monkeys have prehensile tails that can be used for grabbing and holding.

Unlike crude, archaic animal tests, non-animal methods usually take less time to complete, cost only a fraction of what the animal experiments they replace cost, and are not plagued with species differences that make extrapolation difficult or impossible.
